Celebrated Kenyan rapper Wanjiku Kimani, popularly known as Femi One is the Best Female Rapper for the year 2022.

The Kaka Empire signee won the award for Best female rapper at the 2022 AFRIMMA Awards in Dallas, Texas.

“WE WON!!! Best Female Rapper In Africa . The first East African Female rapper to take it home, it’s such a big pat on the back for my team and I for all the work we’ve put in throughout the years . Truly consistency, patiency pays !! This should be an encouragement for all the up and coming Female rappers! There is a spot for you in this industry, keep building , keep doing it , they are watching . Thank you all so much for the continued support ❤️,” she wrote on her social media platforms.

The Gala for the awards went down over the weekend with three other East Africans also walking away with awards.

WCB Wasafi President Diamond Platnumz was crowned Best Live Act.

His signee Zuchu won the award for Best Female artiste in East Africa while Next Level Music CEO Rayvanny took home the award for Best male artiste in East Africa.

Speaking after receiving the award, Vanny Boy dedicated the award to fellow East African musicians.

"I want to thank god, and my fans across the world, it was like a dream come through for me. I have so many awards but I was looking for this and finally, I got it.

“Finally I get this, thanks to AFRIMMA and the whole team. I just wanna dedicate this award to my East African fellow musicians. This is for us, we are one, and thanks AFRIMMA for the Award. I love you all,” Rayvanny said.  

On her part Zuchu said;

“I’m actually very emotional right now because I spent the whole night crying yesterday because my show in Houston did not go as planned but God told me 

“We can always take failure as a lesson, as an upcoming artiste I’m just telling you guys this is not the end but actually the beginning of my journey.
