Eddy Kenzo banned from performing at Any Event in Kampala

1.     An interim order is issued restraining the Respondent, his agents, workmen, assignees, managers, promoters, and anyone claiming under him from purporting to perform the Eddy Kenzo Festival or any musical shows/events/festival anywhere in the Republic of Uganda

2.     Until the determination of a substantive Application for a Temporary Injection vide Miscellaneous Application No. 1572 of 2022.

3.     The Application abides by the outcome of the main cause,” the Order reads.

When he planned the Eddy Kenzo Festival in 2020, which didn't take place because of Covid 19, Luba Events disclosed that he suffered damages totaling Ush800M.

He continued by saying that despite a legally binding agreement in which Luba and Kenzo agreed to an amount of Ush140M given to the singer, Eddy Kenzo went ahead and organized the event on his own this year.

Over the weekend, Kenzo brought together over thirty thousand people in his concert at the Kololo Airstrip, Uganda.

The event saw performances from Kenyan singer Bahati, Tanzania's Harmonize, Rwanda's Bruce Melody among others.

Dignitaries were also in attendance including Prime Minister Robina Nabbanja.

Kenzo came into the limelight after his 2014 hit song 'Sitya Loss', in which he featured Uganda's Ghetto Kids. The song has since garnered over 44 million views on YouTube.

Singer Eddy Kenzo, real name Edirisa Musuuza, has been banned from performing at any event within Kampala, Uganda.

This is after an event organizer Luba Events accused the singer of breaching a contract.

Luba Events explained that Eddy Kenzo betrayed him when he stripped him of the organizing rights after he had paid him some money to hold the “Eddy Kenzo Festival” tours in different parts of the country.

According to 'Mbu Uganda' the court has halted all Eddy Kenzo bookings in Uganda.

“This matter coming up for final disposal this 9th day of November 2022, before HER WORSHIP NAKITENDE JULIET in presence of Counsel for the Applicant and the absence of both the Applicant and the Respondent.

IT IS HEREBY ORDERED AS FOLLOWS;
